Weatherford sales tax up from last year

Much like other small communities and towns west of the Mississippi River, Weatherford arose due to the railroads being built as part of the westward expansion after the land run of 1892 that opened the Cheyenne and Arapaho lands to white settlement.
Weatherford’s string of three straight months of record-setting sales tax figures ended, but it remained ahead of last year’s pace for the same time period. January sales tax numbers are generated from November 2023 sales. Weatherford’s November 2023 sales tax was $1,136,903.92 compared to $1,115,289.12 for November 2022.
