Second land ran opens more of OMahoma
An estimated 29 months after the first land run of 1889, President Benjamin Harrison signed a second proclamation September 18, 1891, authorizing Oklahoma's second land run — also known as the “Sac and Fox opening.”
This was the first land run that opened land to settlers that previously was occupied by Native Americans, as several tribes had accepted government-bound allotments.
