Turning 130 years old in 2023, the Oklahoma Historical Society was the first to begin collecting and archiving the state’s historical artifacts. They began by collecting newspapers after being founded in 1893 by the Oklahoma Territorial Press Association —- prior to Oklahoma entering statehood in 1907.
